WHEN TO ADD TITANIUM DIOXIDE DURING PAINT PRODUCTION AND QUANTITY

Titanium dioxide is a white pigmented chemical,  If I may say as we have red colour, blue colours, yellow and black colours so we have titanium as the white colour.

White is neat and pure, titanium dioxide is neat and pure, it helps a light coloured job to have coverage. If you add titanium dioxide in a deep colour paint, your just wasting the titan, the deeped colour will cover the walls with ease and adding titan will take much colour to get a deepen colour paint

For instance,  If it will take you 1kg of a red oxide to get oxblood when added titan it will take 2 or 3kg of red oxide, and still waste the titan, hope you now see why you shouldn't add titan in a deepen colour paint

Very Lighter colours high quantity of titan, light colours moderate quantity of titan, deep colours less quantity of titan and very deep colours no titan at all.

Titanium dioxide is added during the dispersion (or grinding) stage of paint production, typically at the very beginning of the manufacturing process before binders and thickeners are added. The goal is to maximize the breaking down of agglomerates (hard lumps) into individual particles to achieve optimal hiding power.

I suggests after addition of water as the solvent, followed by addition of calgon as a dispersant then comes titanium dioxide so it can mix very well.
